football matchs in saigon
Founded in 2000, four local expatriate teams and one Vietnamese team decided to compete on a more formal basis. Saigon Japan FC, Saigon Saints FC, Saigon Raiders FC and Saigon Olympique have participated in every league season since then. Some other teams have also participated in the past but are not part of the league anymore, such as the RMIT University (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) Phone Viet and LDC (local Vietnamese teams) and others.
For the third year in 2009, Les Gaulois de Saigon are now part of it and represents the second French team within the league with Olympique.
The League starts every year in September and ends approximately in March, depending on the weather condition and notably the monsoon season.

Football in ho chi Minh city - Hall of fame
Amateur Football Club in Saigon established since March 2007
On a group of friend’s initiative who decided to create a club with a family spirit, the Gaulois of Saigon was established in March 2007 with at first 6 players.
The first match of the Gaulois was played on April 1st 2007 and was a defeat 5-3 against a local team; yet the most important was that a team was born.
A series of friendly matches against both locals and expats were played until September 2007, when the SIFL (Saigon International Football League) started.
The first season was tough as the group was still under construction. Ironically, the first win of the Gaulois occurred against the other French team of the League 2-0. The Gaulois ended the League penultimate, and was eliminated from the cup after a loss at the penalties.
The respite between the 08 and 09 season brought the first trophy of the Gaulois at the Phu Quoc Cup.
The season 2009/2010 will soon started with new fresh players and most of all a huge motivation. The team is now well established within the league.
